How to become a New Patient

Thanks so much for your interest in becoming a patient at PRISM Spine and Joint! Additional information about our practice can be found on our FAQ and Pricing pages.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept insurance as the time and resources required detract from our ability to spend a maximum amount of time with our patients. Upon receipt of payment in full, PRISM can submit your claim for you or provide you with a detailed receipt you may use to submit to your insurer. Please see below or Pricing for further details.

  • $325 for 25 min New patient evaluation for sports medicine care (isolated injury to a specific joint or management of a single specific acute or chronic issue)
  • $550 for 50 min New patient evaluation for sports medicine care (complex musculoskeletal diagnosis or multiple joints or diagnoses to address)
  • $775 for 110 min New patient evaluation (including EDS diagnosis)**
*Patients who do not live in Maryland or travel to Maryland for the appointment may be ineligible for an Initial Evaluation due to medical licensing constraints. However, they are eligible for an Informational Session where the PRISM team will provide valuable information regarding their condition. **For new patients there is often an additional 30-60 minutes of administrative time following an initial evaluation which is included in the price listed above.
  • $185 for 80 min Initial Evaluation for Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine with Jen Reil, LAC Pain, Inflammation, Insomnia, Dysautonomia, MCAS, Rheumatologic Disorders, Injuries)
If you would like an appointment for complex musculoskeletal conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, or other multi-system, immune or neurologic condition, please register here. We recommend a 110 minute appointment for these cases: PRISM New Patient Survey.

If you are seeking musculoskeletal care for injury or chronic pain in the absence of a complex neurologic, immune or connective tissue diagnosis, please complete the PRISM Sports Medicine Survey (Note that Sports Medicine is a field of medicine which denotes expertise in the spine and joints. Although the field began to address an unmet need in athletes, the word “Sports” is purely historical as these physicians are trained to treat acute and chronic pain and injury).

Upon completion of one of the surveys above, we will compile your information and determine timing for your first appointment. We appreciate your continued patience and look forward to caring for you.

We can’t wait to meet you and be a part of your healing journey!
