Meet Alana Wright, MD

Sports Medicine Physician

About Dr. Wright

I am a board-certified Sports Medicine physician. I completed my undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University with a BA in psychology, and obtained my Master’s degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. I earned my medical degree at the Tulane University School of Medicine, then completed my residency at Albert Einstein/Jacobi Medical Center and specialty fellowship in adult and pediatric sports medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center.

My approach to every patient is very simple: How would I want my friends and family treated if they went to a doctor with the same issue? My training in both pediatrics and adult sports medicine has taught me to treat both children and adults in a thoughtful and compassionate manner. I believe it is important to empower patients and work together on medical care and wellbeing. It is important to me to spend time discussing the issue, the diagnosis and the treatment, and to address the concerns and questions of my patients.

I treat patients of all ages with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. I take a comprehensive approach to managing and preventing sports injuries, including concussions. My special interests include working with connective tissue disorders, athletes with relative energy deficiency in sport (REDS)/Female Athlete Triad, injury prevention and ultrasound-guided procedures.

I very much look forward to meeting you and developing a plan to help you feel your best!
