Informational Session
Can’t make it to P.R.I.S.M.?
Let us bring P.R.I.S.M. to you - virtually!
With a Personalized
Informational Session!
At PRISM, we welcome patients from all over the world, but we understand traveling is not an option for everyone – especially with mobility challenges, children, and need for accommodations! Helping you access knowledgeable and compassionate care for Hypermobility disorders and related conditions (such as Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Dysautonomia/POTS, Chiari, and Cervical Instability), plus the various belly and joint aches and pains is our priority. The PRISM team is on the cutting edge of diagnosis and management of these conditions – and we want to help YOU get the answers you’re looking for, no matter where you are!
What is a Personalized Informational Session?
This is a one-on-one, one or two hour conversation with a PRISM Physician. It is an opportunity to learn more about the possible causes of your/your child’s symptoms, treatment options, and receive additional education about any accommodations that may benefit your family. Dr. Cohen Solomon will explain how specific symptoms connect to various diagnoses and treatments that your care team may not have considered. We detail the information from your session in a document which you can then provide to a local physician or physical therapist, etc., in order to give them additional context and treatment options. The goal is for you and your care team to feel more knowledgeable and confident in caring for your and/or your child’s health.
What are the limitations for an Informational Session?
An Information Session is not the same a Telehealth Appointment. Due to medical licensing laws, our physicians cannot make a diagnosis, do a physical exam, order tests, or prescribe medications during informational sessions. Since this is not considered medical care, there is no superbill to provide to insurance, and information sessions are not eligible for reimbursement. If your FSA/HSA allows health coaching, you may be able to use those funds for your Informational Session. You can also use the amount toward your medical expenses if you itemize deductions at tax time.
Who can schedule an Informational Session?
Great news - Informational Sessions are available to anyone, worldwide!
What if I want a Telemedicine Appointment to establish care?
In addition to Info Sessions, which can be done anywhere, PRISM Physicians are licensed to provide medical care in the following states:
Maryland: All ages and lines of service
Pennsylvania and Virginia: Up to age 23
California: Ages 16 and older
